To participate in the contest, I chose one photo.

I hesitated for a long time which photo to take, because despite my love for monochrome, I don’t have enough photos in this form. Participation in the contest cost (conditional) 2.5 dollars. I got the points for participation for free, but the inner understanding that you can “either take part in 25 contests, or in one” said that you have to believe in the work you publish. And I believe. I’m not saying that it will take first place or be, at least, in the top ten, but even if it is one of the 50, I will return most of the investment. If not…well, that’s not scary either. But I will try.

This picture was taken on a Pentax. Like several others that participate in contests.

Let’s be objective – the contest is not an indicator of anything, but I uploaded one picture, which has collected 1030 votes at the moment. The picture is provocative (in my opinion) and it is not about the result, it is more about perception. If people support my creativity in this form (at least half, because I take the middle place among all the participants of the competition) – this is an indicator that I am doing everything right. At least from the point of view of the fact that my creativity has the right to exist. If I change it – I have the right to exist. So…

Returning to the topic of the cost of the picture – I gave my 2.5 dollars for exhibiting my work in the competition. I DO NOT care what place it will take among the votes of different people (because it partially does not meet the request of the competition), it is more important that I made my own choice, trusting the picture that I once took.
